Celebrating America's largest, longest-running, free maritime festival in its 43rd year, Norfolk Harborfest® returns Friday – Sunday June 7-9, 2019. For three memorable days, the historic waterfront festival offers a weekend packed with more than 30 hours of free entertainment and thrilling activities on land, air and sea including tall ships and the Parade of Sail, artisan foods and beverages, unique and unusual performances, one of the largest fireworks (Saturday 9:30 pm) and choreographed drone shows (Friday, 9:30 pm) on the East Coast, family games and activities, national and regional entertainment, and so much more. “We are thrilled to be part of this inaugural EXP NFK Epic Weekend” said Norfolk Festevents CEO Karen Scherberger. “To see how downtown Norfolk as evolved since the first Harborfest in 1977, with so many exciting and diverse venues, attractions, restaurants, entertainment and so much more is truly an epic story” adds Scherberger.

Norfolk’s first official arts district, the NEON District, is home to a new wave of passion and creativity in downtown. Balloon Sculptures at Slover LibraryExhibit on display June – July, 2019Clean Virginia Waterways, Keep Suffolk Beautiful, Suffolk Art League, and Suffolk Public Schools have partnered to collect the balloon debris that pollute the waterways of Virginia and transform them into beautiful sculptures. These larger-than-life works are a monument to the massive impact that the debris has on marine life and that “what goes up will come down.” On display in the Slover Library Forum, June – July, 2019

After touring the Harbor we will join in with the Parade of Sail as it returns to Town Point Park. Riders of all sizes and stripes are welcome to join this casual bike ride from Benchtop Brewing Company in Chelsea along the Elizabeth River Trail through Freemason to the downtown waterfront.
