THE 43rd ANNUAL NORFOLK HARBORFEST® AT TOWN POINT PARK 

Celebrating America's largest, longest-running, free maritime festival in its 43rd year, Norfolk Harborfest® returns Friday – Sunday June 7-9, 2019.  For three memorable days, the historic waterfront festival offers a weekend packed with more than 30 hours of free entertainment and thrilling activities on land, air and sea including tall ships and the Parade of Sail, artisan foods and beverages, unique and unusual performances, one of the largest fireworks (Saturday 9:30 pm) and choreographed drone shows (Friday, 9:30 pm) on the East Coast, family games and activities, national and regional entertainment, and so much more. “We are thrilled to be part of this inaugural EXP NFK Epic Weekend” said Norfolk Festevents CEO Karen Scherberger. “To see how downtown Norfolk as evolved since the first Harborfest in 1977, with so many exciting and diverse venues, attractions, restaurants, entertainment and so much more is truly an epic story” adds Scherberger.

First Fridays Downtown Street Party Rocks the NEON District. 

Don’t miss First Fridays, Downtown Norfolk’s favorite street party. The party takes place June 7^thstarting at 5PM in the NEON District at the Plot. Rock out to music from local favorite Super Doppler along with opener Illiterate Light. Celebrate the 75^thAnniversary of the Battleship Wisconsin’s commissioning Friday – Sunday, June 7-9, 2019 as you explore newly opened battleship spaces—including  “Broadway,” the ship’s hospital, barbershop, library, Chief’s Mess, and laundry facilities—that doubled the amount of explorable space on the ship that is open to the public.  Plus, stop by the Nauticus/Sail Nauticus tent at Harborfest and get your free 75^thanniversary scratch-off card.  You could win free admission to Nauticus and the Battleship!

Clean Virginia Waterways, Keep Suffolk Beautiful, Suffolk Art League, and Suffolk Public Schools have partnered to collect the balloon debris that pollute the waterways of Virginia and transform them into beautiful sculptures. These larger-than-life works are a monument to the massive impact that the debris has on marine life and that “what goes up will come down.” On display in the Slover Library Forum, June – July, 2019

American Rover Parade of Sail
Be part of the Spectacle - Join us aboard the American Rover Sailing Ship for the Norfolk  Harborfest Parade of Sail. After touring the Harbor we will join in with the Parade of Sail as it returns to Town Point Park. In the parade will be work boats, Navy and Coast Guard vessels, tug boats and visiting sailing ships. Continental Breakfast Included.

American Rover Harbor Tour
The daytime cruise is our most popular for children and families.  Lend a hand setting the sails, take a turn at the helm, or simply sit back and enjoy the cruise as the Captain Points out the highlights of the Harbor: The Downtown Norfolk and Portsmouth Skylines, Battleship Wisconsin, Private Shipyards and more. We may also see Navy Ships, Tugboats, Mega-Yachts and the occasional dolphin!

American Rover Sunset Cruise
The evening cruise is our most popular for adults, couples, groups of friends and company outings. (families and children are always welcome) Both fun and romantic, the sunset cruise is the perfect way to spend an evening.  After the captain does a short tour of some of the sights in the harbor entertainment will be provided by our Ship’s Musician.

American Rover Fireworks Cruise
Experience the Harborfest Fireworks from the best Vantage Point of all! After a quick tour of the Inner Harbor we will position the ship to give you an incredible view of the region’s best fireworks show!  

Victory Rover Naval Base Cruise
The #1 Tour in Norfolk on TripAdvisor!  The Captain provides a fascinating and entertaining commentary during this 2 Hour Cruise. Elizabeth River Trail Fireworks Ride

Say ooh and ahh along the Elizabeth River Trail for Harborfest Norfolk 2019’s firework show! One of the largest fireworks displays on the east coast turns it out year after year so come join us along Norfolk’s waterfront to watch.

Riders of all sizes and stripes are welcome to join this casual bike ride from Benchtop Brewing Company in Chelsea along the Elizabeth River Trail through Freemason to the downtown waterfront.
