Virginia’s largest nonprofit outdoor event planning and production company, based in Norfolk, Virginia, is seeking an experienced, results oriented, data-driven, highly motivated, professional to fill the opening for full time, experienced and highly motivated Special Events and Entertainment Sales Manager. Scope of work includes extensive food, beverage and retail vendor relations and event set up, creating and maintaining sales reports and personnel supervision. Candidate will sell on-site space to local restaurants and national food vendors to meet and exceed sales goals for a multiple-event seasonal schedule. Ideal candidate will handle all on-site operations including signage installation, sales displays and coordinating/supervising 3rd party vendor set-up and operations.

Qualifications: Minimum 2 years recent professional Entertainment and Special Events, preferably with a sales orientation, and college degree.
Characteristics and Required Skills: Ability to work well in a dynamic environment, team builder, ability to accept and follow directions, results oriented, efficient, positive and pleasant personality, professional conduct, outgoing, organized, reliable, trustworthy, accountable, energetic, supportive. Must have excellent oral and written communications skills, proficient in Microsoft computer programs including Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point; Web and other Social Networks management, proficient math skills necessary to meet income projections and manage a budget; creative skills to brand and merchandise sales locations.

Requirements for Employment: Candidates must have clear criminal and driving records and comply with a criminal record and DMV record check, must have valid driver’s license, possess the physical ability to work in an outdoor setting in all types of weather conditions, and possess the physical capacity and stamina to perform duties associated with the position (up to 18 hour work days on event dates, carry weights up to 50 lbs, lifting, walking, climbing steps and scaffold towers), flexible schedule to accommodate work related activities on weekdays, weeknights, weekends and some holidays.
